Turnstile Bridge

Situated at the Prai River mouth overlooking the Penang Bridge

The turnstile bridge crossing the Prai River is one of the interesting feature of Butterworth. This could be the only one in Malaysia that I know. The bridge was built for the train to pass. The turnstile bridge has to swivel open for boats to pass during high tide. Tuck boats, ferries and smaller ships going up stream has to pass through this turnstile bridge.
If you are coming by train to Butterworth then you should be able to cross this turnstile bridge.
Located - south of Butterworth Railway Station.
